I spent the month of April in Austria as an artist in residence at FarmLab, thanks to the support of Culture Moves Europe, Goethe-Institut e.V.  This residency gave me the chance to dive deeper into the Amber Grain Embroidery project, my ongoing exploration of root-based materials, traditional craft, and biodesign. At FarmLab, I focused on growing new material samples, natural dyes, wool and developing unique pieces that will soon become part of the Amber Grain collection, to be presented at the Zlin Design Week Fashion Show this May. The Amber Grain collection is a personal response to the urgent need to reconnect with nature, rethink our materials, and approach fashion in a way that is both respectful and visionary. It brings together natural materials, traditional textile techniques, and experimental bio-fabrication like growing laces and embroideries from roots.
