ROOTS

Growing faster and bigger

FarmLab Residency, Kapfenstein – April

The countryside offers the ideal environment to grow root-based materials from locally sourced seeds. Here, roots form strong yet delicate patterns, inspiring my ongoing exploration of these materials.

During this residency, I focused on shifting the design process from the lab. I continued to develop forms inspired by the anatomy of wheatgrass and introduced more fluid, wave-like shapes. I also worked on patterns influenced by traditional embroidery for my evolving collection.
A new experiment included CNC-milled moulds made from beeswax, merging craft, technology, and nature.
